Summer Student - Dieppe, NB

Master Packaging Inc., the leader of corrugate and folding carton packaging, located in Dieppe, New Brunswick is currently seeking self-motivated and energetic students who are available for summer employment for the months of May through September.

Hourly Rate: $16.50/h (Night Shift / Sunday Premium)

Rotation: 4 days on, 4 days off (8 Day Rotation)

Shift: 2 Day shifts (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM) followed by 2 Night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)

Responsibilities: As a member of a highly energetic and goal-oriented team, you will be mainly responsible for the quality of our finished product and will assist and work cooperatively with the staff as needed in a variety of roles all while following safe practices.

The successful candidate is currently enrolled in a college or university program. Must be multi tasked, result oriented, team player and most importantly willing and able to work 12-hour rotating shifts. Must be available for work starting early May 2021 until mid to late August.

Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile and enter invoices for payment
  • Process cheque runs
  • Compile information for month-end accruals and reports
  • Liaise with and support internal clients and external vendors
  • Proactively identify and solve issues
  • provide administrative support to the office

Requirements and Skills:

  • 2-3 years of related experience in a high-volume accounts payable environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Team focused personality.
  • Familiar with standard accounting concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Computer skills – must be proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience with accounts payable within an ERP system.
  • Experience with JD Edwards (Oracle) software is an asset.
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills required. Bilingualism (French) is an asset.

Customer Solutions Specialist - Dieppe, NB

Master Packaging Inc., the leader of corrugate and folding carton packaging, located in Dieppe, New Brunswick is currently seeking a self-motivated and customer focused individual to join our growing team as a Customer Solutions Specialist.

Responsibilities: This position requires the skills to successfully and effectively manage internal and external client relationships while providing support for our various products. Working in a B2B environment, this role requires a balance of customer service skills with system and technical knowledge, ingenuity, and ability to solve problems. Specifically, the successful candidate will:

  • Interact daily with customers and relevant stakeholders to understand customer needs' and values' to facilitate orders from receipt to delivery.
  • Become a knowledge expert in Master Packaging products.
  • Manage the approvals between the Design department and the Customer for samples, proofs, and art work. Schedule press side approvals for First Time Orders.
  • Provide ongoing support to the Outside Sales Team.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Bilingualism (English/French) is preferred, but not necessary for the right skillset.
  • Post-Secondary education in business or equivalent is preferred.
  • A Strong Customer Service orientation with 2 to 5 years' experience in Customer Service, preferably within a manufacturing or B2B environment.
  • Project management experience is an asset.
  • Experience in the paper converting, printing or graphic arts industry is preferred, or an aptitude to learn.
  • Intermediate computer skills and solid knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities: As a member of a highly energetic and goal oriented team and reporting to the Production Manager, you will be mainly responsible for the following:

Accountable for the performance management of his/her team:

  • Participate in the hiring process
  • Coach and train his/her team to align toward set goals
  • Conduct annual performance reviews; in addition to adhoc performance management

Manage his/her team with employee safety as a primary focus:

  • Teach, promote, and apply Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • Promote and apply HAACP policies and procedures
  • Promote and assure good housekeeping practices
  • Participate as a member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee

Management of his/her production team:

  • Time & attendance management including vacation scheduling and Kronos timekeeping
  • Identify and manage daily priorities to ensure customer on-time delivery
  • Participate in daily Production Meetings
  • Ensure that all required quality checks are completed and that only acceptable quality products are produced and shipped
  • Communicate quality root cause analysis to crew member(s)
  • Participate in Operations Review and employee events

Communication:

  • Conduct monthly crew meetings
  • Ensure effective communication of company and plant information to team members
  • Ensuring and respecting confidentiality throughout the organization

Requirements and Skills:

  • Post-secondary education would be considered an asset
  • 3 to 5 years management and manufacturing experiences preferred
  • Printing or die cutting knowledge/experience
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, coaching and presentation skills
  • Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision
